Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Perfect Prep Machine, 26 May 2013

This is an ingenious idea/invention by Tommee Tippee although as many reviewers have stated in their reviews this unfortunately is not without a couple of shortcomings which if addressed and 'fixed' by Tommee Tippee would definitely make this an excellent baby product to own. It is for these couple of issues that I will mention below that I have marked it down a star rating.

When you first unpack the machine you need to complete a cleaning cycle to ensure that the machine itself is clean and ready for filtering your tap water. This process took about 20 minutes rather than the advertised 10 minutes in the instruction booklet as the water tank seems to take a bit of time for the water to fill all of the way through the water filter into the bottom section of the water tank. However this in my opinion was not a negative to the product but I just thought I would mention it in case another person thinks like I did that I was doing something wrong. Great by day, not one for at night, 7 Sept. 2015

I have mixed feelings about this. By day I love it. It's easy and quick to use and is a damn sign cheaper than using pre prep bottles. Can easily be operated one handed while holding baby,By night though it's awful and can't be used. I had taken it up to our bedroom hoping to use it for swift night feeds and out downs. Oh no, don't do it, learn from my mistake...... After the first hot shot of water the machine emits three loud beeps and flashes a red light, it's like a really loud, rubbish rave in the darkness of your ambiently lit, baby friendly bedroom. When the cold water is added the flashing turns green and then two loud beeps. Here is an item that works, yes some people have critised that you can make baby formula without a machine and of course you can, but the whole point of this machine, for what I use it for anyway, is for the speed and convenience. Comparing to doing formula by hand where you have to warm the milk up with hot water (personally wouldn't use microwave due to the hot spots) this is a lot quicker. Get the bottle ready, put in the desired amount of anti crying baby milk powder, put this under the machine and press a button, give the bottle a whirl or a shake, press the button again and you have baby milk! Take less than 3 minutes to do. When you have a crying baby speed is important, you don't want to get them too stressed, well i don't anyway. This works with Dr Brown bottles but you have to make sure the bottle is placed correctly on the stand otherwise half the water just go on the outside of the bottle.
