Like many mothers who want the best for their baby but don't have the time or ability to sit down all day breast feeding on demand, the idea of the breast pump seems ideal.

I did use a manual breast pump with my first daughter many years ago and found that I got myself into a sticky, irritated mess! It was beacuse of this I was in two minds whether to buy a pump at all, never mind spend the best part of £100 to purchase one.

Having read professional reviews, I took a leap of faith and bought this model. I must say that while it may be considered a little expensive and it is a little tricky to operate one handed (while feeding my baby with the other breast,) I expressed some three ounces of milk in around 20 minutes.

I was then able to take my baby out shopping for some essentials without having to give her formula milk or listen to her scream the shop down before we returned home.

The best you can get, 22 Jan. 2014
I had a manual pump but it was not doing the job. Thanks to Medela pump I was able to keep breast feeding my baby. I cannot recommend it enough. Great product!

I absolutely love this product. I've tried several breast pumps, including two manuals from other brands and a mini-electric from the same brand. None of them came close to being as comfortable or efficient as this one. As I had some serious complications with my birth, I was lain up and couldn't breastfeed my babe for a couple of weeks...and haven't been able to get him to latch on since, so I have to feed him via expressed milk after I've re-induced lactation.

After some research, I discovered that pumping both breasts simultaneously increases prolactin, the hormone that "tells" your body to make milk. Having read this, and being very happy with my Swing breastpump, I opted that instead of buying a double breastpump I would instead just buy another and pump both breasts at the same time. Wow, am I glad I did so! It took a bit of getting used to but cut the time and increased production drastically. Now, instead of spending 20 min each breast (sigh...what a drag) to get...
