This is a good play pen. It is soft (apart from the gate) and alleviates some of the fears I had with the all metal constructions whereby I thought my girls would keep hitting their heads on metal.
It is easily constructed, even by one person. The mag is nice and soft and can be tied onto the construction at the corners. The mat is also easily washed in the washing machine and doesn't fade or shrink at all.
The gate is simple enough to use for an adult (although my mother in law claims that it is difficult for anyone with weak hands which is probably worth mentioning for anyone with arthritis or anything similar). A toddler, fortunately, simply wouldn't have the coordination to open it on their own.
Unfortunately both my children hated the playpen from day one and continued to do so - but that is not the fault of the design or the product itself - it is a good playpen.
