A nice little nightlight, and a fun projector, but sadly it only takes batteries for powering it..., 23 Jun. 2014

The Philips Spiderman LED Night Light and Image Projector is a small bedroom light that provides both a subtle night light as well as a projector for projecting a range of Spiderman images onto your child's ceiling (or walls).

Once you have inserted 3x AA batteries (not included) into the lamp, it can then be switched on to the `lamp' setting whereby the lower half of the lamp illuminates around its entire circumference - giving of a mild `night light' level of light. You certainly won't be able to illuminate an entire bedroom with the lamp - however, it does offer a nice low-light to help kids to get to sleep with.

Flipping the switch in the other direction turns it from a lamp to the Spiderman Projector. Here, the lamp directs a beam of light upwards through the lens that's situated on the very top of the lamp. The lamp comes with three different projector wheels which each include eight different Spiderman images. Simply slide in...

Ignore the bad reviews from silly people, 8 Dec. 2014
Excellent product, our daughter is only just 3 and worked-out how to rotate the projector images within seconds.(The images are rotated manually, not driven by a motor.)Ignore the reviews that say it doesn't project to the ceiling, total nonsense. The ring on the top can be turned to focus the image, so you can project it a few centimetres or at least 3 metres (with decent batteries). Also, having it plugged into the mains would be daft, because it would prevent the light being easily played with in bed and introduce the safety issue of mains electricity, so battery power is a bonus feature. (Yes, they'll run down, so use rechargeable batteries - not rocket science.)If your child doesn't like to go to sleep in the dark and loves Frozen, this is a brilliant solution.(Thankfully it doesn't play the music ... "Let it go, let it go ...".)

This is a nice little night light (although very bright for a small room) The projector works really well, and the images are get clear, and my little boy does enjoy looking at then on his ceiling. On the whole though, I'm slightly disappointed with item, mainly due to the fact that it eats batteries! My son is a light sleeper, so once the night light is on, it's on all night. I f2f I tried sneaking in to turn it off, he would wake. At the moment, batteries are lasting no more than a week of every night use. It would be much better if it came with the option to be plugged in like many night lights do.
