Great variety of books - great for ASD, 8 Mar. 2014

I purchased this set of 4 books for my son who has a diagnosis of autism. I got them after having seen two of them - the emotions book an the potty book and I was very impressed with them. The set is a lot of money, but often comes down in price. I got it for £10.00. If you're patient, sales come around every month - 6 weeks on amazon it seems.

The box it comes in makes it all well presented ad is different than that of the single books. All of the books are well illustrated and interesting for the appropriate age group.

The emotions book - I like this book in particular as we are working on teaching my son the different emotions as well as what they look / sound like. We've also got the Sesame Street emotions book, which is far less detailed. This book illustrates emotions as well as why someone may feel that way. IE tad is mad because he wants to stay and eat cookies with his friends but his mum says its time to go. There is a little scene set for each emotion and it works...

I bought the Scout book pal and several of the books for my 2 year old son as he has been struggling with his speech and I thought that this reading system would help him along with more words. I'm pleased to say that I do think they have actually helped him although I do still need to encourage him to use the book pal as he loves sitting there just looking at the books without it too. I was so impressed...

The LeapReader/Tag Junior sets are so unique. Scout, the little dog, is placed on the page and every picture or word on the page makes a sound e.g if you place Scout on the words, he reads out the words, if you place him on a picture he sings a song or makes the noise of the object. It is amazing technology!Our 2 year old daughter is a real bookworm and loves reading all her books. Now that she has this set she adores sitting with Scout and the books and reading along on her own. We will definitely be buying more of these type of books.
