Mommes (mm), is a unit traditionally used to measure the quality of silk fabrics. One momme = 4.340 grams per square meter; 8 mommes is approximately 1 ounce per square yard or 35 grams per square meter.

For bedding, the higher the weight in momme, the better the silk bedding is. Sheets between 19-25 momme are considered ideal silk with momme weight. Lower than 19 are not suitable for the production of quality silk bedding linen.

The word 'silk' is synonymous with luxury and comfort. I have an old silk blouse which is as soft as it was when I bought it. It seems to regulate my body temperature, in that in winter it feels warm, but in the summer feels cool 😉.I've never tried silk bedding before, but for the last few nights I've been enjoying sleeping on a silk pillow 😀. It has noticeably less drag than my usual cotton pillowcase, but doesn't feel too slide-y. There is less friction when I turn my head, but my head doesn't just slide off - if you know what I mean 😉.I normally sleep well, but I think I've been sleeping even more soundly with this pillow case. The softness needs to be experienced, because I don't have the words to describe it properly. It feels cool to the touch initially, but within seconds is skin temperature.I was given this product for my honest and unbiased review.

This pillow is a real taste of luxury for those who like to feel silk on their body at night. I cannot describe just how soft and slinky this pillowcase is, certainly way better than the usual type I have tried up until now. My wife suffers from asthma so she wanted to try it and she found it helped her to sleep at night, which is obviously a plus. The pillowcase is also handy as one side of it is cotton, so it does not slip and slide over the bed. Both sides come up a treat in the wash and I used my washing machine on 30 degrees, as recommended by the manufacturer. The case itself came in a nice white box – see picture – that makes it a nice present as a gift. The only problem with this pillowcase is that you will not want to get up in the morning!Lovely.
