My son is no longer a baby, but he does have a very cold (and sometimes damp-feeling) bedroom, and I wanted to be able to monitor this for heating/dehumidifying.
While the pink colour (no choice over this) isn't my favourite, it doesn't really matter as it's something for information purposes. The thermometer came with its own battery (though the listing says it won't), and this is easy to insert. Setting the unit up also proved simpler, setting date and time.
It instantly picked up the temperature and moisture in various rooms around the house, changing from room to room and remaining constant when in one place. It also does vary at different times of the day and gives a good indicator of trends to be aware of.
Very easy to use and to gather information from, a useful 'face' to determine if temperature/moisture are at unacceptable levels.
Can be hung up or propped up (has a foldout stand).

I have used a hygrometer and digital thermometer for a number of years. I find them useful for monitoring the temperature in rooms - sometimes you think it is hotter or colder than it really is (particularly when tired – it seems colder than it is).
This is the first child’s one that I have seen.
Unusually, it has a face to give a visual representation of the humidity. When it is between 40 & 70% it shows a smiley face. At percentages above and below that, it shows an unhappy face.
One other unusual feature is that this has a clock too.
You can set the thermometer to degrees C or F, and the time to 12 or 24 hours
Unusually, the temperature is displayed to the nearest 0.1 of a degree. I do not know if the thermometer is actually that accurate.
You can either wall mount it or use the fold-out stand. It has a moulded screw mount on the rear for the former.

This is a very simple gadget featuring a clock, indoor temperature and humidity level.
I’ve been using it for the last week during which time the time has remained accurate and the thermometer and hygrometer functions have proven surprisingly sensitive and accurate. Even moving it to a different side of the room has resulted in a different temperature reading and this has matched a second thermometer and hygrometer confirming its accuracy to within 0.5° or 3% (either thermometer/hygrometer could be accurate).
It is powered by a single AAA battery (supplied), took about 2 minutes to set up using the slightly-Chinglish but easy to follow instructions and, for anyone with a baby then a quick glance at the happy/unhappy face will indicate whether the humidity is at a healthy level, ie between 40-70%.
It can be either desk-mounted or hung on a wall.
