This Bosch PHD 7962GB Classic Coiffeur Hairdryer comes presentably boxed with, a nozzle, diffuser and instructions. The immediate impression is of a well made product and it is finished in gloss black with red trim. The feature set includes "Continuous Ionisation" which is supposed to make your hair more softer and easier to comb - this feature is on permanently. The other controls are a 3 heat temperature switch a two speed fan plus a separate cool blast button. A hanging eyelet is provided together with a generously long power cord.

M girlfriend and I have tested this dryer for a few days now and we both like it. Overall, it is nicely weighted/balanced and comfortable to hold. The controls are easy to operate too. However, bearing in mind there are three heat settings we'd like to have seen three fan speeds too - the two options of "gentle" and "strong" cry out for a medium setting, although the throughput of air is powerful. Excellent hair dryer GF would recommend, 25 Aug. 2015

I didn't realise Bosch made hair dryers until i saw this one, I had first thought it was a heat gun... So when I found out it was a hair dryer i have been having the micky taken out of me by the Girlfriend for this mistake over the last few weeks... fortunately she has been able to test this for me.

The packaging it arrives in is good, the device is held securely inside and would be difficult to damage the way it has been packaged. On taking it out of the box you can see that it is very stylish, shiny black plastic with red edging. It looks great. The switches feel very solid and the whole hair dryer feels well made. Another bit of proof for this is the filter (red bit at the back) that comes off, the mechanism for this is very smooth and goes back into place easily.

You get two speeds to the hair dryer but three heat settings, My girlfriend feels that this should have had more than two speed settings but doesn't think it has affected the performance of the hair...

Got past my cynicism guard..., 16 Aug. 2015

You know, I'm a bit of a cynic. When I see a hairdryer that costs £60 (at date of writing), my first reaction is oh, yeah - I bet it's no better than a cheap one out of the supermarket. And even though I'm lucky enough to get things free for review through the Amazon Vine programme, my cynicism usually stays firmly in place. So the fact that I'm giving this a glowing review is down to the fact that it actually exceeded my expectations.

First off, it comes well packaged, mostly in cardboard, with very little plastic waste, so full marks from an environmental point of view.

Secondly - and I'm sorry to be so shallow - but it's gorgeous! Lovely shiny black, all smooth curves, and the red highlights are just enough to make it look truly 'designer'. It feels comfortable in the hand, and the controls are well positioned and easy to use. Just the usual controls - speed, heat and a cool shot - enough to find the perfect setting for you without being overly complex. And...
