This might seem a little picky... but this is NOT a CD player. i.e. it cannot play CDs - it is a pretty simplistic 'press here for an annoying electronic sound... and repeat...' type of toy . This should be MUCH clearer in the product description.

For the people who are saying we didn't read the instructions properly, when you see the following bundle:Frequently Bought TogetherCustomers buy this item with 101 Children's Songs and Nursery Rhymes ~ Various Artists Audio CD £3.49Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Nursery Rhymes CD Player + 101 Children's Songs and Nursery RhymesPrice For Both: £20.19It is obviously assumed that it is a CD player if a children's CD is FREQUENTLY SOLD WITH IT.The toy is nice, but it is implied that it is a CD PLAYER since that is what it is called. Fisherprice used to do a tape recorder (a real one) so there is no reason why customers wouldn't think this is a real CD player. Very disappointed.

This is a nice toy that my youngest daughter has played with a fair amount.In use, the child has to press the Jose of the character on the front and the 'cd' (obviously it doesn't play real cd's) spins round, stopping on a particular animal. The associated song is played, the sound the animal makes can be played and the name of the animal (the buttons at the top toggle thought the options).It is a good toy. The popular nursery rhymes have tunes which are in my opinion slightly altered from what many of us may consider to be the original. But my daughter is happy enough with it and it's nice to see her trying to sing along and trying to dance.The toy is robust and I think it is very unlikely to break. It runs on batteries which are easy to change (you need a screwdriver).Would recommend.
