This Clinical Digital Thermometer which arrived as a test sample via the seller is something of a

disappointment. It comes in a blue box which lists its features, such as High Accuracy, Fast

Response, Alarm Signal, Break Resistance and a very inclusive Instruction Manual.

It does take the temperature correctly so to that extent it is OK, but the 'Beep' or Alarm Signal

that is supposed to sound when it has completed the temperature reading, does not sound at all.

According to the instructions, the Beep sounds on completion and if the temperature is too high

it continues to sound.

The Instructions state that "Normally the buzzes are Bi-Bi-Bi-Bi and that the alarm beeps more

rapidly when the temperature reaches 100 F". This thermometer was tested on 3 people and

whilst it showed a true temperature reading for all 3,it let itself down by its inability to buzz, beep,

squeak or make any sound.

item purchased discounted to also reviewI've had one of these types of thermometer for a while now- it's much safer than the old glass and mercury thermometers for obvious reasons to do with glass and poisonous mercury!This particular thermometer will upgrade my old one.This is by far the nicest contact thermometer that I own. Why? It comes in it's own clear hard casing to keep it clean when stored (medicine cabinets can get a bit sticky with syrups and sweet powders) Also, the sensor is mounted on a bending probe to make measuring more comfortable and the button is rubberised, distinct and easy to operate. Moreover, the sensor is fast and beeps when ready for reading :-)I've binned my old thermometer- the batteries had run down anyway and the LCD was barely readable. I'm very happy with this new thermometer.
