hard to put on, harder to take off, 22 Sept. 2009

This is the first liquid eyeshadow I have used, and so I wasn't too sure what to expect.

My first impressions were that the "precision" applicator was about as precise as a wax crayon, and that the colour was much cooler and more silvery than the bottle suggested. The colour says "coffee" but on the eye it was much more of a gun-metal grey/silver hue that was very shimmery indeed. If this is what you're after then you won't be disappointed.

Even though the eyeshadow is difficult to put on, it does blend very well with fingertips, brushes or cotton buds (although the latter can shed fibres into the liquid if you're not careful). And after around the five minutes it takes to dry (about twice the time of the average mascara) it stays on pretty much *forever*.

I mean it! Two lots of soap in the shower didn't remove much of it and I had to go at it with the greasy eye-makeup remover to shift the last traces of colour. That is providing you put it onto a dry...

Painful!, 1 Jun. 2010

When I initially bought this product I was very pleased. It is a rich brown colour that is perfect for day to day wear. After a couple of attempts I got to grips with the wand and found the eyeshadow fairly easy to apply, but you definitely have to wait a minute or so for it to dry otherwise it smudges easily. My main problem with this product is that everytime I have used it, after about an hour it makes my eyelids sting so much that I have to take it off. I've given it a few goes because I do love the colour, but it is so painful that I have now given up.

Max Factor Masterpiece Colour Precision Eyeshadow, 27 Sept. 2009

This creamy shadow goes on like a dream, with a pleasingly cool and smooth texture easily applied from a flexible applicator. The colour is wonderfully intense but neutral enough to make it easy to wear every day, with a pretty shimmery finish. Best of all it stayed put all day, with some fade by late afternoon, but no smudging - it's wonderfully stay-put - or streaking around my face. Unusually for a cream eye colour there was no creasing either. Very impressed.
