Great gate, terrible instructions, 15 Dec. 2013

This is a great, sturdy, easy to use stairgate, but the fitting instructions are appalling. Parts are labeled incorrectly, the fitting order is completely wrong and the pictures are all over the place.

I bought 2 of these, I only have fairly limited DIY skills, the first one took over 2 hours to fit. The second one took around 20 minutes from box opening to being complete.

I'll try and give some clearer instructions below:

1. First attach the 4 plastic ends to each part of the stairgate, as per instructions, but DO NOT fully tighten the screws. You'll need these to be a little loose for adjusting your gate to fit, tightening these is the very final stage of fitting.

2. Now join the 2 parts of gate together firmly to form your completed stairgate. I have uploaded a photo to show how the final gate should look and how& where the clasps fit. The included instructions label these 4 clasps incorrectly. These clasps cannot be fitted...

Absolute life saver, great gate!, 15 May 2013

This gate is great, it's sturdy, easy to open and close one handed and can be trusted not to move unlike pressure gates. The person who gave the gate a bad review saying it was difficult to assemble and that it would leave holes in the wall clearly did not do any research. Gates that screwed into the wall are much more safe as they do not work loose over time and this gate can fit into most doorways. I originally bought one for the bottom of the stairs and then bought another one for the top of the stairs. I am now about to buy a 3rd for our kitchen doorway. My 21 month old son has already worked out how to open pressure fix gates by lifting it and I now need one he cant open!Great service too and yes it does take a bit of looking at the instruction to install but nothing a bit of thinking can't work out!I dont normally leave reviews but wanted to on this product as didn't want people put off by silly bad and ill-informed reviews.

Keep the template!!, 2 Feb. 2014

This gate is a little tricky to fix especially when someone in the family throws away the template that they helpfully send you in the box!!!!. but once up and fixed to the wall it does exactly what it should overall a good gate
