Excellent design concept but pity the build quality. For starters, it arrived unvarnished. Well, OK, it didn't say it WAS varnished but babies do have a habit of slobbering all over the woodwork, so without varnish it quickly gets grubby. Secondly, and most important, it was ill held together with a few tiny pins and scant glue. Within two days of use by our nine-month old twins, one pin had come out (fortunately I found it before they did) and many of the bars were loose within their sockets. And pretty soon after, the bars started warping, suggesting that the wood was poorly seasoned. Granted, this latter was more an aesthetic than a serious problem but it did suggest corners had been cut. Next thing we noticed, the bolts that joined all the pieces together started to come loose with the regular shaking the babies quite naturally give these containments when they are struggling to learn to walk. Why aren't they captive nuts? Then one of the nuts came out of one of the wooden bases...

Don't buy -- this product seems to have been developed by people who've never had children and at the very least is useless and actually I think quite dangerous. My 9 month old son was able to break this playpen in a month! Within three months he had completely broken it... How? First he used the rails as a great toy, shaking them. It didn't take long for this to loosen the screws that hold each section in place. Eventually this made one second break away and render the "pen" useless. Also in destroying a section of the pen, the pen becomes unstable too. So unless you have secured each end on a wall it will probably collapse on your child. Ours did.
Yes I should have thrown the thing out then, but it's not cheap and we don't have the money to burn. We were clever -- "Now we know what to do", we thought: "Each day we will check the screws and that will stop any problems in the future". Nope. Because this pen is made from soft wood with metal inserts that screw...
